Should distance runners lift weights? Yes they should. In this video I discuss the great benefits elicited by having a strength program. I talk about how to weight train, what exercises to do, when to do them, what reps/sets/weights and how to fit it into your schedule. I also talk about auxiliary exercises such as single leg work, plyometrics and kettlebell movements that aid your weight training.
No you won’t get bulky and put on muscle mass if you train in the correct way for athleticism.
